Neighbours joined us for the second Taste of North York, a three-day Community & Food festival celebrating everything that makes North York such a special place to live!

The festival featured even more delicious food, live entertainment, artisans, fun activities by local businesses and representation from dozens of local organizations!

MEET

The goal of the event is to meet neighbours and celebrate all North York has to offer! 

The Meet & Eat located at the Reflection Pond at Mel Lastman Square will include the following:

  • A patio to enjoy food and meet neighbours all weekend long! 

  • Community Meal Friday, September 6 at 7 pm 

  • A Community Fair of 20 local charities, non-profits, clubs and elected officials on Saturday and Sunday

  • Family activities include robotics, juggling, lego-building, aerial hammocks, and more!

Get ready to embark on a culinary adventure at Taste of North York, September 6-8, at Mel Lastman Square! Celebrate and appreciate our community's diverse cultures, including Chinese, Korean, Filipino, South American, Indian, Ukraininan, Japanese, Indigenous, Vietnamese, Caribbean, Egyptian, and many more!

Many of these vendors are new to Mel Lastman Square meaning you’ll be able to indulge your taste buds on delicious food items you haven’t enjoyed here before!

We’re excited to offer Toronto’s best cinnamon buns—as chosen by BlogTO—along wit many other scrumptious sweets!

ENTERTAINMENT


We're working with incredible partners to bring exciting performances to the square. 

The mainstage has performances from an assortment of fantastic bands and cultural groups including Persian, Korean, Chinese, Indian, Ukrainian and Latin dancers and musicians.

Don't miss the unique opportunity to see Canada's Got Talent Golden Buzzer Magician Mark Lewis on Saturday, September 7th at 7:30pm. His performance will be followed by the energetic sounds of Persian Band Milad J, making it a night to remember!

OUR MEET & EAT
Join us for a Community Meal on Friday, September, at 7 pm with a live Mariachi Band followed by a Latin dance class and social with Star Dance Centre

On Saturday September 7th & 8th from 12-5pm
Meet neighbours from over organizations that make North York a special place to live, including Charities, Non-Profits, Neighbourhood Associations, Clubs and more! You'll find them around the patio in the reflection pond!

There will also be family activities, including lego building, a robotic field, an aerial hammock, an instrument petting zoo, juggling workshops, arts and crafts, caricatures, and face painting

A Better Future For All
A Better Future For All is a social impact orgnization that mobilizes technology in peer-to-peer giving. Korean Canadian Cultural Association
The Korean Canadian Cultural Association ("KCCA") is the largest organization of its kind in Canada, and it directly serves the 120,000 Koreans living in the Greater Toronto Area. KCCA is a community-based, not-for-profit charitable organization. KCCA has played a critical role in promoting an understanding and appreciation of Korean culture and heritage to Canadians of all backgrounds.

North York Garden Club
North York Garden Club has been in North York since 1924. The club meets on the 4th Monday of the month from February until November at 7:30 PM. They promote the love of gardening to our members and the public through meetings, guest speakers, flower shows, plant sales, and community outreach activities.

The Yonge North York BIA, formed in 2021, serves approximately 1,600+ member businesses and commercial properties. Street-level restaurants, shops, office buildings, and shopping centers house a variety of businesses and service providers. The BIA’s main pillars of focus for project development and improvements are the public realm, marketing, and local economic development.

Yonge Corridor Condominium Association
YCCA serves condo boards of directors along the Yonge Corridor north of the 401 by providing networking workshops and opportunities. It also advocates to various levels of government regarding areas of concern for condominium residents in the area.

Formed in December 2019 as one of the first approved Ontario Health Teams, North York Toronto Health Partners was initially created to provide integrated health care to targeted populations in our community: frail seniors, those with mental health and addiction issues, and those at the end of life. But this was just a starting point: over time, our focus is shifting to the entire population of North York.
